Mrs. Strimel's Classes operated based off of IEPs or Individualized Education Plans. Each IEP is a legal document that is constructed through a process and met upon at least once a year. The IEP team meets to come up with goals and service delivery times based off of data taken across school settings as well as formal and informal testing data. Once the IEP team has met and goals and service delivery times have been decided upon, Mrs. Strimel then takes those students and groups them by ability, grade, or service delivery time and teaches them the goals and objects on their IEP in order for them to make the gains needed to get back on grade level. Mrs. Strimel's goal as an EC Specialist is to only give a child as many services and modifications as necessary for them to be successful in the general curriculum. Once they have successfully navigated back to grade level material and the IEP team decides that they no longer require specially designed instruction they will be exited from EC services.
